Just a question about Quick Reply
Will that feature be in phpBB 2.2? I looked on the list of new features and didn't see it so I guess I'm just looking for a clarification. Thanks.

Yawn. No, it will not be a new feature. You still need a mod for it.

No it doesn't suck that you have to add a minor mod..it sucks that it's not a feature to begin with.
I wasn't trying to be an *beep* with my comment, you don't need to jump on people like that.

Jesus H. Christ ... "jump on people"?! Believe me, if I want to "jump on people" they'll know about it
I'm sorry that quick reply is such a critical feature for you but hum ho, for now there are no plans to add it.
Re: Just a question about Quick Reply
Personally, I've never seen a reason for quick reply anyway. It takes a mere few seconds to click the "Post Reply" button; why do you need anything quicker? In my opinion, quick reply is an invitation for typos and pointless posts.

Re: Just a question about Quick Reply
I only installed a QuickReply mod on one of my boards, cos people wanted it. I'm the same, 99.9% of the time I use the proper full reply page.
If you want it soo much, just install a mod, why bloat the main code with (imho) odd stuff

Re: Just a question about Quick Reply
Erisar: because it takes 5 seconds to load posting.php?mode=reply, you waste
1) Server Bandwidth
2) Your time.
The current reply page is 40 KB. If you have 100 posts per day, you waste 4000 KB of bandwidth. (if you didn't notice, I'm a proponent of Quick Reply)

:D
Well, if you can't take the five seconds (which honestly never even takes that long for me), then I guess it would helpful, but I still don't see it as something that needs to be added to the core product. IMO, it's best left as a MOD.
