install

Post by i am a cheese »

ok i downloaded the latest snapshot and got it uncompressed and i am looking at all the files wondering where they go

do they replace files in other versions of phpbb like 2.0.6 or do i upload all of them and run the install.php file

if they replace the files in 2.0.6 where do they all go?

if some one could point out a place i could find a good install guide it would be helpful

2.1.x is not meant for use in a live environment.
There is not support for CVS snapshots
If you are not comfortable playing with php/SQL files, then please wait for a beta/RC/final product :)

I certainly wouldn't recommend installing over an existing 2.0.6 live board. create a test board and play with it... not a production board.

Then the snapshot isn't for you.

you can't even install over an existing db, the installer will give an error
