We all know both suck and that we should use HTML pages hand-edited by admin

Re: PHPBB vs Invision
Are you guys asking for a feature to be able to edit the template files via admin panel?
Re: PHPBB vs Invision
That is already implanted. In fact, that is even working in the current prototype's.mm3guy wrote:Are you guys asking for a feature to be able to edit the template files via admin panel?
Re: PHPBB vs Invision
Yes. It's just a bunch of GET variables sent to ssi.php.The Red Guy wrote:You're referring to ssi.php right? I guess it could be an easy hack, I haven't seen 2.2's code yet, but hopefully it gets into the /extra functions!
It's really not that difficult to do. Jesus. When 2.2 is released, I'll write the MOD for it if it'll make you happy. Sheesh.

Re: PHPBB vs Invision
For a while I thought that Invision was better than phpBB for a couple of reasons.. mainly because it came preinstalled with everything you need for a good forum system while phpBB relied on you hacking it to a ..usable state.
However, the way phpBB looks is much sexier than Invision. I've never seen a good theme FOR invision so ultimately it's worth the hacking just for a sexy board.
But yeah.. They're really dependant on how much time you want to spend on setting up your board. I generally prefer phpBB.
