Who publishes the CVS version? Is it an external group?

The phpBB Group sends it to sourceforge.net, who in turn let people use anonymous pserver access. In other words, sf.net lets us.

Then why is there no support for the CVS downloads? Are they modifying it?

Because a pre-alpha of a pre-alpha forum of a ... cannot be used in a public place and developers know what are the bugs so they don't want us to report 999 times the same bug if they KNOW IT!

Why would you want to use an alpha forum in a public place ?

CVS is there just for fun : for testing, to see what are the upcoming features, to explore...

Actually CVS is a development tool. The fact that we can get to it just a bonus. But the real purpose of CVS is to help multiple developers work on the project at the same time.
