It is pretty safe to say that templates cannot be converted.
I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading,
I try forget you as you forgot me...
This time there is nothing left for you to take -
this is goodbye...

I prefer the term more "User friendly" but... whatever works for you I guess.SilverString wrote:i like the new look...seems clean and fresh. i love the buttons...thier something about them, more warm.

I think that each forum ought to be able to have a customizable theme; inwhich where it could draw from a different template upon being clicked on. This would give a complete, customizable feel to a forum and would keep forums from being restricted to just "one" look.

It's already there. I will admit I haven't tried it yet, but the option is certainly there in the Admin Panel.

Re: The style [ template, theme, imageset ] topic
When the template system was initially redesigned I was intent on customising it myself and i came up with a couple of things:
If I think of any more I'll return
- Being able to output the current iteration. This is for stuff where you might like a 1., 2., 3. heading for each item, or for use in javascript. I'd suggest a {#blockname}, {#blockname.blockname2} format.
- Secondly, I'd like to see the ability to reference specfic iteration's variables, like {blockname[1].blockname2.VAR}. this could be expanded to include {blockname.blockname2[-/+X].VAR} tags and the like to reference to X iterations before/after the current iteration.
- I'd love to see the ability to (UN)SET variables from within the templates for things like conditionals, like checking whether a block has been run through. This is useful when determining col/rowspans and completing tables and the like.
