Re: Locking Forums?
Aside from the fact it appear to be an attack on the moderators in telling them how to do their job, fact is... in the older incarnation of Area51 (running pre-release 2.0.x) people were able to moderate themselves.Roberdin wrote:Why hasn't someone locked this yet?
The very fact this topic had to be posted recently proves that the newer members are seemingly unable to restrain themselves.
Lastly, Gen Chat here doesn't increase postcosts, thus newbies can't be a postwhore by posting to this topic, and actually have to try and contribute something useful in the forums that do increase postcounts.

Re: Locking Forums?
I really should stop writing posts in a hurry and not reading them before I submit... seems to be making me unpopular...

I was just kidding about it, a lot of other topics in which people have posted rubbish in were locked instantly, where as here, all I can see is people posting who was online... but then that might be because i'm on a 56K connection and i didn't bother to go back to the previous page...
From now on I promise to only post in topics where I have something valuable to say... at least until the end of the day
Still, at least people don't have to read my drivel because I have a bad Karma... the system works well
