You still DON'T know and unless You are part of the development team You are in no position to make a realistic guess on the release time.
Let the phpBB group announce possible release times instead of GUESSING. Yes I know what it means to guess and Yes I also know what CVS is and yes I have the latest CVS running on a test board and I judge by the state of it and the roadmap that there is still a LONG way before it is relased.
And Yes I also recognise arrogant all-knowing persons.

Re: A reasonably "working" CVS thing
Last time through, the RC phase took from December to April, I believe, so if history repeats, we're looking at a 5-month beta/RC period. Now, that could shrink a bit, or grow, but it's a reasonable estimate. Second, they're approaching M-2. and I would personally think 2-3 months for each additional milestone, which means at worst, another 11 months. That seems drearingly high to me, and somehow I get the feeling that the next two milestones will move by comparitively quickly.
As you can see, I seem to have some kind of method. Getting ready for the eventually impending "Guess the Release Date" thread.

Re: A reasonably "working" CVS thing
dkklein, my exchange of ideas ends here with you. You don't and won't get it. I can guess whenever or wherever I want for a release date, I'm not announcing to people that it will be released then, I'm guessing for my own person that it could be done by then. Take it, leave it, I don't care
As for Aexoden, indeed, good method.
I also think than M3-M4 will be approached faster than the previous milestones, since from what I read M3 it's just final touches and tweaks to things already implemented within M1-M2, and attachments already made it on M2... only thing that could take some time is the initial overhaul of UCP [already present, yet not functioning]
M4 will only focuss on private messaging [so far], so it would go very fast.
Then Beta, then RC's, yeah...a few more months. 11 ? I find that way too high. I would say 7 tops.

Hey guys! Who cares?! I fell for reading all of that jargon in hopes of finding something interesting.
I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading,
I try forget you as you forgot me...
This time there is nothing left for you to take -
this is goodbye...

Re: A reasonably "working" CVS thing
Indeed, seems a rather pointless argument when I don't even have a specific target date in mind at present
Re: A reasonably "working" CVS thing
That is exactly why I questioned Kuma's post. I won't speculate on a release time and trust that psoTFX will tell us in due time.Lugie wrote:Hey guys! Who cares?! I fell for reading all of that jargon in hopes of finding something interesting.
