Just wanted to show you guys my deepest appreciation in creating this wonderful tool. I've used it since the beginning...and I've seen how much it has changed and improved and I keep getting surprised by you guys.
I've been watching carefully the forums about 2.2 yet I've been afraid to post :: smiles :: because first post could be "when are you releasing this?" but I did that same mistake in the past, and got the usual response "when it's done" and that's [b]ok[/b].
New features look excellent, new features looks fun and exciting, and users ideas are always welcome [[color=#404080]and some of them do have nice ideas[/color]].
Questions though: [i]Is there anyway to add blocks to it? As in reducing the size of the main forums table and adding custom content into the right or left sides? Like a portal sort of thing, where you can put general polls or update news? [/i]
Question II: Purely cosmetic, a way to change the forums IMAGE [not the posting one like I see you implemented] but in the general index, so if you have a cascaded forums [also implemente] of reviews, I could put "Movies" and "Music" and change that specific forum image so people know :p

Well, these are kind of like feature requests. So somebody will refer you to the tracker at http://www.sf.net" target="_blank , however I don't know the exact URL.
About the blocks though - the phpBB team plans on producing a Portal system that is SEPARATE from phpBB itself. That is - phpBB will stay solely a BB, and this portal will be it's own thing. So, "if things work out," you can expect a portal that works with phpBB very well.
Besides, I'm sure there will be portal mods created for 2.2 relatively soon after release.
