As it might actually be possible to create something better?

Though Tom's work was good, if he was to "do it all again", I'm pretty he can manage something completely new and fresh.

As any high quality web designer should be able to.

I've taken a look in the template 2.1 cvs, it's much complicated than 2.0.x, it would be much difficult to make our own templates...

Are you kidding?

The basic HTML and stylesheeting is simplified compared to 2.0.x ... the actual template command set has been expanded but isn't too difficult.

The subSilver "1.5" style used in phpBB 2.1 _is_ simplified compared to subSilver "1" in phpBB 2.0.x ... what you are calling "complex" is the addition of conditional statements.
