does anyone know some of the new features that phpBB4 will offer?

I'm sure the developers know what features they are developing.

We will find out which of these make it into the finished software when it is published. In the meantime you could research by reading this board.

As someone who has played with the development version of the software, I haven't really noticed many changes as far as features. It seems most changes were internal, unless I'm missing something huge.

You didn't really have to go through the trouble. What 4.0 currently looks like is what you see here on Area 51.

I know, but I didn't know if there were any back-end features in the ACP that were added. Plus, It was a good experience.

Pretty sure the Customise tab lets you install extensions from there in 4.0.

Thanks man, but I just looked in my ACP, and it doesn't look much different than previous versions. I'm assuming the feature you mentioned will be added in the next development version or during the release.

Edit: Of course, my instillation was a bit bumpy, so that might be it.

The Customise tab has a "Extensions catalog" link in the current master branch so not sure what you're looking at.
