Hi all,
It would by good to give in futur versions of phpBB to give the possibility to create natively SEO URLs. We are in the 21h century and nearly no CMS uses stil such "technical" URLs as phpBB. I'm using since years third third party MOD's and since 3.1 extension. But it seems to be harder now to rewrite the URL's with extensions as before
Thanks

Re: Rewrite the URL's with extensions as before
How is it harder to write an extension for this than before? Certainly a lot of work, but not more work now than it would have been when extensions came out some 5+ years ago
Re: Rewrite the URL's with extensions as before
This is something I plan to do, let's see if I have some time to make a concept.
But without using controllers in most of phpbb it will only work with a few routes

Re: Rewrite the URL's with extensions as before
What is the presumed strategy that someone would be using to create human-readable URLs? Can it be as simple as packing the forum ID and topic ID into the path itself, such as /forum/81-71706/phpBB-3.x-Development/Rewrite-the-URL's-with-extensions-as-before? Which side-steps the issue of "what if the forum or topic is renamed later", as well as "what if two separate topics have exactly the same name."
What is important that we "do" or "not do" when it comes to wanting the URL to be human readable, and/or any desire for categories and keywords to be present in the URL?
