phpBB 3.2.6-RC1 released

Post by Marc »

Release highlights
  • Bug fixes
    • Cookies for domains with special chars - Added support for cookies on domains with special characters
    • Support Q&A plugin on MySQL 5.7 - An SQL query in the Q&A plugin failed to execute while using MySQL 5.7
  • Notable changes
    • Update dependencies to latest versions - Updated dependencies like Symfony and the TextFormatter to their latest versions
    • Deny installations of 3.2 on PHP 7.3 - Due to the dependencies used in phpBB 3.2 and its minimum PHP version 5.4.7, it's currently not possible to run phpBB 3.2 on PHP 7.3
  • Hardening
    • Remove support for backup download - Removed support for downloading database backups via the ACP UI. This is to prevent the possibility of a database compromise on gaining access to a founder account
The packages can be downloaded from our downloads page as well es our package archive. Please test the packages to the full extent, so we can have a stable final release.
Thanks for testing,

- The phpBB Team

You can run "phpBB 3.2.5 , 3.2.6-RC1" on PHP 7.2 without a problem.
PHP 7.3 gives errors

Mistake in my original post, I meant 7.3. There are no errors.

You may not have encountered them yet but they are there.

If I have not encountered them in about a month on a production board, I find that highly unlikely. My point was that denying installation for those that are willing to take the responsibility, when it's clearly working fine for some, is annoying, a warning would've sufficed. Especially since knowing phpBB production speeds 3.3 will be released around the time of the second coming...
