I know I an good at asking silly questions so here is another one.
Why is Chameleon using the MIT licence when phpBB insists that the GPL-2.0-only licence is used? Is there about to be a change in licensing?

Re: Chameleon Licence
the theme is different than the software package. We are not changing the license for the software. Most front-end tools, frameworks, and resources we use are mit and it's more compatible with design elements.
Re: Chameleon Licence
Can we get our terminology correct please. Until now phpBB has had styles not themes is this changing?
So, by implication are you saying that the "new" style/theme (whatever you want to call it) will not be being packaged with phpBB and will be a separate downloadable option? If so what style will be in the default package?

Re: Chameleon Licence
No. The theme will be packaged with version 4.0. The word styles is irrelevant, themes is what they are, styles is just the term that was used in the folder naming it has no meaning in front-end terms so I refer to it as a theme. It makes no difference what you want to call it, it’s the same.
As for the licenses the only thing that will change is the acceptance of “styles” under mit being submitted. When packaged they take on the license of the package in are case gpl 2. This works since mit is a broader license with less restrictions.
