I have seen now a PR exists for this ?
Is a changed files type of update? So it is faster and less chance for some error in download/copy?

Not in 3.3 as it is already feature-frozen (I think). But I will do my best to add it to 4.0.

Would an automatic db-backup be considered in a 1 click update?
Personally I'ld opt more for a question asking to start the 1-click update with the option to cancel, allowing the taking of a db-backup before updating (an auto db-backup is in some cases not possible due to the size of the database and configured limitations).

Added: yes I know 3.3 is feature frozen, but the 4.0 topic is locked and visitors are pointed towards this topic.
