It would be wonderful, if - as long as a forum is kept open in the browser - it would auto-update itself whenever someone created a new thread or new posting within a thread. Similar to Facebook: you keep a group page open, and you see immediately the new postings as they are added by anyone posting there to the open thread.
Same with notifications: show them as they occur.

We've already discussed this and the general consensus is "no thanks" for many various reasons. If you want such a feature you can create an extension.
