Disable email communication on a test site

Post by P_I »

Apologies if this isn't the correct place to ask this question.

For the forums I administer and operate, we maintain a couple of testbeds for testing updates/upgrades. We populate the database for these sites from our nightly backups.

I'd like to be able to shut-off/disable email communication from these systems to forum members. There are a number of actions that can cause an email to be sent to a member, such as issuing a board warning, or if they are subscribed to a topic.

Is there some setting(s) that can be changed to prevent ALL emails from being sent to members?

I don't know if there's a simple way via an ACP setting, but I think that you could always use SQL to update everybody's E-mail address to be something like "[email protected]".

In addition to what Steve said the "Enable board-wide emails" setting in the "Email settings" area of the ACP should stop emails from going out if you set it to "No".

Thanks. That one was staring me right in the face and I just plain missed it.
