what u think about update new phpbb versions in acp direct from phpbb.com servers? like wordpress?
now we must download phpbb package and upload to our sever.

is that possible?

Of course we could implement it, but we would run into the same security issues like Wordpress where extensions can harm the updater and install unwanted updates easily.

If someone installs a malicious extension, having the ability to affect the updater really isn't the worst of what it can do to the server.
