Banned user flag

Post by aleha »

Other users should know whether a user is banned or not so that they could choose not to quote him or send him PMs even if they can.

Ideas for an extension with current events:
For the ideas above you'll pay an sql query to the banlist table.

I don't think that this should go to core so feel free to post other ideas or comments.

PS: Does core.memberlist_prepare_profile_data apply also to the mini-profile data shown on the right of each post on a topic page?

Or you could just use a special color...I use gray and have the name striked out...

Remember that not all bans are permanent, so just because somebody is banned today doesn't mean that they'll be banned tomorrow. So you may still want to quote or PM that person. In fact, you may want to quote somebody even if they're permanently banned sometimes.

You should also read the Automatic move banned members for the banned group RFC.

The display of who is banned should be optional. Some admins don't want to show everyone who is banned; some only want staff to see that.
These kids today...
Buy them books, send them to school and what do they do?

They eat the paste.
