They have changed the license for version 3 if I remember correctly.

OK, so the question becomes do we make a whole *new* style that uses bootstrap or do we just tweak responsive prosilver to make it a little better, right?

My opinion, in another thread, was that since prosilver is already responsive and since adding new styles should be easier in 3.1+ that we should just tweak prosilver rather than totally replacing it since not everyone will agree what a new default style should look like. New styles (with or without bootstrap) that can be easily added can be picked by the admin that wants them rather than forcing a new style that some will like and some wont.

Style choices are subjective but everyone is used to prosilver so *I'd* vote for tweaking prosilver and having *new* styles either included as secondary choices or as optional downloads, whether they're officially supported or not. I think that would cause less drama rather than forcing everyone into a totally new default that some will inevitably dislike. If a secondary style become popular enough, perhaps the default should change but I think that would be further down the road than 3.2-ish...

I also suggested to create second official style, using for example bootstrap, angular (or another frontend JS fw) and twig syntax.

That sounds totally reasonable although I don't care so much how it's built nor with what as much as what it looks like and how it behaves. I know that I don't want another facebook clone. ;)

What would really be fantastic I think would be to design a new style for the REST API that is being worked on. A nice new style could be built using AngularJS with "AJAX" everything. But that would take quite a while to see the light of day...
That seems like a good idea too.

I remember with Mediawiki, they were using Monobook for a long time as a default skin and later changed to Vector as their default skin which separated the flat level content actions into the categorized content navigation. I am not comparing Mediawiki to phpbb since they both are completely different but just trying to point out that if there are going to architectural changes, it may be better to work on a new style and built on it and still have prosilver included in the download package for awhile for users who still wish to continue using the classic phpbb style.

I also like the idea of a new style better than updating prosilver further. Keeping Prosilver updated, but have the styles team focus on a new default style using the latest technologies. :)

I'm not a fan of the thick border around the topic but I like the buttons... :D

It looks like all you did was adjust some color and add a box around the topic title. I'd hardly call it a "new style". ;)

You mean the one's that are already included in 3.1?

The "display" and "quick-mod" buttons aren't in 3.1.
