Re: Automatic Resizing of Uploaded Avatars

I was talking about Resizing Avatar not to uploding avatar or how hard or easy to upload avatar.Kamahl19 wrote:uploading avatars is really too simple in phpbb.

I see what you mean cos we have gravatar included we dont need Automatic Resizing Avatar, but how about users who dont want to use gravatar or dont have gravatar?

Resizing avatar is part of process of uploading avatar. And this process of uploading is really simple, it does not include even resizing avatar. Thats what I meant.
I would rather remove the whole uploading avatar system from phpbb and replace it with gravatar.

Having Gravatar as an option, yes. Completely removing the current system for a 3rd party system, no.Kamahl19 wrote:Resizing avatar is part of process of uploading avatar. And this process of uploading is really simple, it does not include even resizing avatar. Thats what I meant.

No is not, perhaps you talk about resizing in avatar in forum post from ACP.Resizing avatar is part of process of uploading avatar.
No offence but i glad cos you are not in Developers TeamI would rather remove the whole uploading avatar system from phpbb and replace it with gravatar.
Now let's face it if wii will remove avatar system from phpbb we will gone have a dependency that means cos you will use avatar only online and not on localhost.

Definitely a bad idea. I keep my avatar on my PC (where I generally register for boards). I also have it on my Web site for any sites that only allow a URL or if I'm not on my main PC.keith10456 wrote:Having Gravatar as an option, yes. We should rarely force use of a third-party service to get useful functions. (Imagine if the only CAPTCHA allowed was ReCAPTHCA.)

Re: Automatic Resizing of Uploaded Avatars
This is something that I'd really like to see.
Whenever I go to a board that doesn't 'resize' the uploaded avatar, I pretty much always end up NOT having an avatar becuse I can't be bothered opening a program to resize a particular image myself...
Now think about those who wouldn't even know how to resize an image themselves...
Definitely required imo.
