Automatic deletion of orphan attachments.
Would it be possible to introduce a feature whereby orphan attachments are automatically deleted after a certain number of days where the number of days is defined in the attachments profile and where a certain value such as 0 or 999 would mean that such deletion is not to take place?

What creates orphan attachments?

I think that you get an orphan if you upload an attachment but never submit the post. There's an Orphan attachments counter in the Board statistics section of the main ACP page.

That is correct. Also applies to PMs, if enabled.Pony99CA wrote:I think that you get an orphan if you upload an attachment but never submit the post. There's an Orphan attachments counter in the Board statistics section of the main ACP page.

Probably they should be held on the server if they are attached to a draft message. When deleting the draft, also delete the attachment.. ?

Re: Automatic deletion of orphan attachments.
But attaching it to a message can only be done via acp, not during posting. So a normal user will always re-upload the attachment, this keeps the old (uploaded previous) attachment in orphaned state.TheKiller wrote:Probably they should be held on the server if they are attached to a draft message.
