And thus we're back to one of my original questions...
"Is this intended to be an elitist forum or something?"

Re: Registering for This Forum Itself
Again, I point you to the site description: phpBB's testing ground of bleeding edge code
I see it as a narrow focus. There can sometimes be a fine line between having a narrow focus and being elitist, but I don't think that's the case here.

Re: Registering for This Forum Itself
In any case, I'm telling you...
I have been in IT for 33 years... and I had trouble with the anti-spambot question here.
I have a very hard time believing that I am the only one... ( though I don't doubt that I am the only one who's taken the time to mention it ).
Apparently, however, no one is interested in improving it.
If everyone likes it serving as an exclusionary feature, fine. Just say so. ....and be honest about it.

Re: Registering for This Forum Itself
I have to re-iterate this:
It's not that we don't want to change it. It's more like there's not much of an effective fix for what you're reporting. If you have something better to suggest besides "What are the capital letters in this string: fPrpwH5e97egp5P7r" then we're all ears. The SPAM problem is a very widespread topic and solving it is not as easy as just changing a question. Maybe making them a tiny bit more clear? i.e.:DavidIQ wrote:It's hard to cater to everyone on this.

Even though usability is kept in mind, the spammers are the bigger issue really. Making things too easy will most definitely not stop them.
What is the codename for phpBB 3.1? (Asc.....) See viewforum.php?f=84 [3.1/______]

Questions have now been adjusted accordingly then. Thanks for the suggestions.

Happy to contribute. Thanks for listening.

@userwhoforums
Now I got the answer. I was thinking on something straight (like a straight road or a stick), bi I was thinking something that happens twice but I didn't know what. So deciding what's common between something straight and something bi is not easy.
I agree with DionDesigns.
also, @userwhoforums, You could have just told that from the beginning as a proposed option to solve it.

Ha ha. I should have known... the logic a geek would use to solve that question. That's funny.
I didn't really think of the idea of improving the clarity of the question. I just thought that coming up with new better questions would be easier. But either way... whatever works.

The purpose of this forum is discussion of future versions of phpBB. While the code names may not be known by most people, I would expect that most people who want to discuss future versions of phpBB would be able to figure out those questions. If they cannot, there is always phpbb.com, where the normal discussions go on.
