+1 From me.

Founder... hum....Jaftica wrote:Another thought is... If you can't write to the DB what happens if you are doing maintenance or adding a MOD that needs the DB? My guess would be, only Founder could access the DB.
Idea is great though.

Only who has permission to activate or deactivate that option can login and change database information, sounds better. No?
We could also live if it works for the ones that have a_ permissions.... Which one is best?

No I'm referring to the forums within the board, not the board.callumacrae wrote:Pony will kill you! BoardDavidIQ wrote:Maybe call it "Set forums to read-only".
I like the idea.
Semantics anyways

Very good idea... comes in handy when updating the board, or migrating from host, the board is still online and people can read:)

Re: [RFC] Close forum instead of disabling it
Great idea, too bad the team didnt had it when wrote 3.0.X
I see this is posted in the 3.2 forum. Would be great to see it in 3.0 .... or in at least 3.1 if you want to keep 3.0 more close to what it is, without too many changes.
Disabling logging in and posting, incase guests are approved to post messages. Also New registrations, would be all to add

It's definitively not going into 3.0, and it probably won't got into 3.1.TheKiller wrote:Great idea, too bad the team didnt had it when wrote 3.0.X

I believe it's feature frozen unless it's something vital.
Slightly better English than it was in 2005, still improving

Won't be ready by the time 3.1 turns alpha.TheKiller wrote:Why not in 3.1 ?
