Version check

Post by Dragosvr92 »

Well, on the Check for updates tab it says if your version is up to date.
I think it would be Pretty to Inform the users on that page about new Release Candidate Releases also and ask them if they are willing to Test them out.
Something like.......

Your phpBB installation is up to date. There are no stable updates available at this time. But If you'd like to try our RC versions you re welcome.

What do you think?

I don't like the idea. We have a QA group and well informed administrators and users that will install them on their own and understand the process (report to tracker, etc.). If we show an official announcement in the ACP regarding RCs then even more users that are not qualified will install them and likely cause some support issues.

You can enable the PHPBB_QA define in includes/constants.php and you'll also get notified of RC releases in the ACP.
