Enable AJAX Quick Edit

Post by GravityDK »

Marc1706 has a mod which allows for editing comments via AJAX rather than a complete page reload of the full edit.
My users love it.

Suggest folding the mod into core phpBB.

I think just a lot more AJAX in general would be good :)

Yeah, in the right places, it's a really beautiful feature for useability. I agree.

I liked this example because the mod is already working, just needs some testing to iron out a few issues with bbcodes which sometimes don't get parsed; so that sounds a lot easier for a developer than writing an AJAX section from scratch.

I don't think it's that great for moderators, as moderators usually put a reason for editing the post, while the Ajax edit mod does not allowed this.

I don't see why you couldn't add a reason field below the quick edit textarea.

i agreed with this

in addition
this feature is so standar for mostly forum software
maybe just phpBB right now

Titania already has some sort of AJAX Quick Edit and I'm pretty sure that it would be possible to integrate that feature into phpBB. ;)
