I am using v3.0.0. I can successfully do a mass emailer to Administrators, but when trying to send to "all users" or to "registered users" it fails with the error:
moderator 58.106.242.170 Tue Feb 10, 2009 3:41 am E-mail error
» EMAIL/PHP/mail()
/ucg_youth_forum/adm/index.php
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions_messenger.php on line 410: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local
We currently have only 10 users, as I am still setting this forum up.
My email settings are:
Enable board-wide e-mails: enabled
Users send e-mail via board: enabled
E-mail function name: mail
E-mail package size: 50
Use SMTP server for e-mail: no
Help much appreciated!
Thanks,
Geoff

odd - I can send to whole list (303) but not just to admins (5).
however it sends out 5 copies of the email to each member (& gets us blocked)
phpBB3.04 (latest) - tried both smpt & non

OK, just tried that, but still failed. Do I need to shut-down, and log back in for this to take effect?
If not, any other ideas?
thanks,
Geoff

Dont enter that email address as your username if you are not sure.
Try upgrading to latest ver 3.0.4 recommended.

I see, I misunderstood your previous email.
I tried it again, but no success. I guess I will need to upgrade. Are others having problem with this?
Thanks,
Geoff
