Wondering why that MOD you have won't install correctly? Let's take a look

Newbie Here

Post by moonchild65 »

OK I am very new to all this and I need help. Please go easy on me. I installed EM with no problems at all. I have been trying to install some mods with EM but for some reason it never shows up when I go to my board to install it. I have read over and over again on how to do.. I have spent last 2 days trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. I d/l the mod and I upload it to the folder I made for in admin/mod/folder with name of mod no spaces. Now I guess I should first ask.. When I d/l these mods they in a winrar file. Do I have to unzip that first and upload every single file to the folder I made or do I upload it zipped up and unzip it to the folder. I am so lost here. Im sorry if I sound nuts but I am really trying to learn all this on my own and I need a lilttle help. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Unzip the content first and then upload it ..... make sure to keep the directory structure as it is when you unzip it

most likely you were uploading the MOD folder into the folder you made.

most MODs come in a folder with the proper name, therefore, you simply upload that folder to the admin/mods directory.

in this case, you do not need to make a folder first.

for instance, if your mod is named "mod1"

your correct path would be;

admin/mods/mod1

not,

admin/mods/mod1/mod1

hope this helps,

robert
