Im beginning to get the feeling dark/Rain works for another (well known) forum orginisation 8O and is hell bent on delaying a much better piece of software

Doesn't really matter, I doubt we will see RC1 before Thurs/Fri.
Personally I think mid to late friday would be good, so that we have plenty of time to deal with the influx of support requests.

I bet they're waiting for the number of in-progress bugs to get to 0, then they shout "quick! sabotage the bug tracker!" and get RC1 ready for release
