How can I add a sliding bar?

I have this forum with some friends. We all are a bf2 playing clan toghether. We have the forum located here, but we want something more than just that basic skinning. So for starters I was thinking of like a sliding bar which can be located on the top of the forum. Something that perhaps could welcome any people who checked our forum, saying something like: "Welcome to our forum, blah blah". You know.. Well I was just wondering if that is a possibility in these phpBB forums. Considering I haven't used these type of forum before this one, I really don't know much about it.

While I'm at it, I may just ask if there is some other way to add things to the forum..? Like for example some boxes on the side of the forum, advertisers, news, anything? I would be glad for anyone to help me out here, I couldn't find any topic where people where asking the same thing..

You can add everything you are talking about just by editing a couple templates.
Look in the styles directory… it's just html, so it should be no problem to add.

in that case you must be using phpBB2… so you're posting in the wrong section.

phpBB2 and a free host. Its highly unlikely you will be able to modify he code of any files on a free host.
