I'm just curious how the developers go about deciding when it is time to stop development and release an update. Do you get to a point in your development where you feel that this is stable and for the most part bug free enough to release? Or do you have a list of things that you've decided must get done first before you will release an update. Also who actually decides when the time is right? Is it a consensus among the developers or does the development leader decide? Thanks!

good:
they can always say: "hey it was just an april fool".

bad:
critics will always say: "its just an april fool"

but a nice april fool would be to create tons of fake accounts submitting tons² of bugs to the bug tracker and then tell everybody that they will drop development due to unforeseen bug amout.
and at the zenith of moaning (late 2th april when everybody fears it hadn't been a fool at all) they release gold

well… they probably would have done that, except now, you've got it all figured out and it won't be a surprise anymore, so they'll probably look for something different now.

I recon they will release on April fools day. Allowing everybody to download and install the greatest more advanced forum in the world. Then when the install script is run a 'April Fool' Message will pops up instead of the script.
