Installing an application over a netowrk

Hi.

Something I hav really wanted to know for a very long time now is how to install an application over a network. Theres no particular reason but I'm just really curios. I have googled but to no success. Is it easy? Is there a special program to be used?

I am not 100% sure but i think you would need a server or something and install the program and some server programs for it to run on then connect to it on the network

Define "installed over the network." Do you want to install it to a server where multiple systems can access it? Do you want to install from a server to local systems? Do you want to install so that the files reside remotely but are run locally?

I would like to know how to install a program so it gets installed to all systems on a network.

That's going to depend on the available architecture. You may be able to do it through a login script that ties into the installer (many of which have options for scripted installations), or alternately (and somewhat easier in the long run) through Group Policy, if you're using Active Directory.
