Being serious for a moment, I can think of about two sections of code that are similar between 2.0 and 3.0, and both have been due to backporting from 3.0.
The first is the sessions code in 2.0.x after 2.0.18 is based around that of 3.0, of which improvements and changes were forwardported from the backport. (:!:)
The second is the highlight code after 2.0.21.
Any others people can think of?

The visual confirmation in 2.x is backported from 3.x if I remember - but then substantially re-written again for 3.x anyway...

Yes, the zlib emulation code was backported into the visual confirmation.
However, the bulk of the visual confirmation that is in 2.0 has always been in 2.0, if only in the /contrib directory before 2.0.10
