I know that this question is probably asked alot but im new to this forum so bear with me.

When will the FINAL release of the new phpBB3 be released to download?

Hey, I didn't think it would let me post a reply. I thought dhn banned me for 3 days? Maybe not...

There is no exact date for release, as the developers keep saying, it'll be released when it's ready. But according to this thing I found on some website (very descriptive ) it said that if the bug to bug fix ratio kept the same, it would be released sometime this february. However, that is possibly very innacurate. The first RC will probably be released in about a month, and they (phpbb) have stated that they will provide an upgrade path from that, so you could use it in a live forum then.

So basically once the RC is released next month hopes, I can install that, and upgrade from that to the final when the final is released.

There may be a beta 3, 4.. Before RC 1. I don't expect the first RC to be released so quickly.

That's something i would like to know if its not a big secret
Is there some really major masterplan like "ok we will do it with 5 betas, 2 rc and then release it"?
Or is it more like "ups another big bug discovered, there goes another beta...again"?

There is no fixed plan. How could they tell that there won't be any bugs left in Beta 5 at this point? But I do think RC stage will be a lot shorter then Beta.
