Re: My new style?
The only problem is white text on black background is a web no-no, it drives people away... that's why I suggested making it more like your main site... it's much more appealing than the forum is right now.

So tell me again, why no white on black?

Re: My new style?
It's more of a rule of thumb...
Use light backgrounds for text intensive pages and use dark backgrounds for mostly graphical pages.
Also, stark-black backgrounds with white text are a strain on the eyes, are are especially difficult for people with disabilities to read.
But if you do choose to have a dark background, make sure the text is high-contrast.

Re: My new style?
Black on white and vise versa isn't very pleasant to the eyes. As you see here, they use black on (blueish) light grey, or dark blue on white. On my forum, I use white on dark grey. It's much better.

hmm, why doncha take the advice? make the site/forum the same
and to be honest ( this isnt meant as bashing or something ) but the style is.. well, its hard to read. like they said- white is bad with black. also, the silverish gradients aren't a good solution IMHO. i think the style jumps to much from color to color, which in turn makes it 'hard for the eyes'. if i would browse your forum for a little while, i think i'd get a headache.
as Spambot said earlier, try to use some lighter colors.. i see you used that on your mainsite, and it looks way better
P.S. and indeed- it looks subSilverish

Re: My new style?
I haven't found that grey looks good on my forums for the background. Plus, I would have to edit all my images again. Are you sure it would?
EDIT: Well, I don't know. You guys could check it out. I changed it to #333333 instead of black. I personally think it looks ugly, but I don't know about you...
I'll just leave it as is, because this board is for developing a style only and nobody but you guys has to see it.

Re: My new style?
It's better, perhaps a slightly darker color for the forum titles (a different color for links and text is always better). And the gradients are still pretty distracting.

Re: My new style?
How should I change the gradients? Both Gradients, just the silver, or just the red? Could you help me with that?
I changed the colors somewhat, look again.
I also changed the silver gradient, does it look better?

Re: My new style?
Well, they made the template for me. If you looked at the footer at the bottom it would explain a lot. Anyways, it just doesn't look right when I try what I did on my home site. But please, give me a break. I'm not the most creative person in the world. This was my first attempt at a style.
