Does getting rid of html mean that after updgrades to olympus, that posts with html will be messed up.

Or will it be re-parsed somehow?

Will we still be able to embed video from places like youtube and google?

I am guessing that it will just show the raw html code in the post after you upgrade...

You should be able to do that with Custom BBCode. :)

I think the devs have made it very clear why they disabled html so complaing about that it is not included anymore or better not as it was is pointless. There will be more phpbb users doing so when the final ,or even before, is out. At the same time at least one moder will start making a mod which will re-include the html function like it is in phpbb2.

You can check that by simply disabeling your html and then check posts which have html in them, how they look like. You probably will only see the html code!
And if my memory serves me right you could use the videos through bbcodes.
((perfect timing-_-, i wasnt able to log in this weekend cuz Dad thinks this site is bad and that your all the spawn of Satan....hmm go figure^_^))

I have lots of embedded clips (via youtube and others) and I'm not completely thrilled with having to reformat every post with a clips just to keep the same functionality.

I understand why they felt they have to remove it, but I do hope that a work around/advice is offered to those who have HTML and want to migrate to bbcodes in a non disruptive way that's not going to be a pain in the arse.

My turn
Fe\irst a fex statistics
Bugs posted since tracker went public: 666
Days since tracker went public:72
currant open bogs (as of 20060521 22:21 CET): 48

Net bugs fixed/day since tracker went public: 8.58

Ok Asssuming that this rate keeps on it will take: about 6 days til ther are 0 bugs left.

Am I right in assuming that when tere are 0 bug phpbb 3.0 (aka olympus) beta1 will be released?
In that case we will not have to wait to long

Disclamer: I'm not a dev and I have no insider info. This is just my try at an aducated guess. I know this way of using historical avarage to predict de futre is at best inacuraet, so plz dutp post several hundred replys telling me that tis is just bull

PS: if you are a dev i wold like to corekt be plz do so. The more info i have the closer my guess will be (if the dev process is predictible att all that is)

On the upside, 48 people can go to the toilet at the same time, while we wait for beta release :D

That's like saying if the population of the world is growing by 150 per hour, and if the population is 6,519,341,493 right now, in 20 years, our population will rise by 26 billion!!!!

But you forgot all the old folks who die, and the Tsunami, LA, etc...

But the bugs are being reported at a rate of 9.5694 bugs per day.
So using your logic, and at this rate, we will have 335 open bugs in a matter of 30 days.

On the other hand, if we are reporting 9.5694 bugs per day, and they are being fixed at a rate of 8.58 bugs per day... you do the math.

*barfs
Hopefully the bug report rate will decrease soon.
Signatures, what a nifty feature. Useful for addding spam to every post.
Might as well add my own spam:
