Most of these bugs would previously have not been spotted untill Beta stages, therefore resulting in a much extended beta cycle.

As it is, an awful lot of the bugs have already been caught, so the beta/rc stages have the potential to be rather shorter than might otherwise be expected.
i know, it feels like we're in really solid beta stages anyway, just without the trouble of actually releasing a beta. might as well just skip to release candidate :p

also with those of us using lowercase b instead of uppercase B, I don't believe the bbcode parser is case sensitive, which is why you're having problems. that's why you can type in B and b as the bold bbcode, and both regardless of any custom bbcode.

I think it may be YEARS before we get the first BETA!

I hope the BETA comes in the next to months though, don't you‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽

I have used phpBB 2.x a lot, and I see many shortcomings, including the ability to enable/disable COPPA in Admin CP, and I am glad that it is available as an option in phpBB3!

Of course, I live in the US, so I have to keep it on, so that is why it is important to me! Many others will find it important because they want to disable it.

I hope the Supreme Court strikes it down in the recent appeal by the US government, because it is usually useless, since most kids fake age requirements... Its like the blind leading the blind.. 8O

actually, COPPA is not required at all in the US. it was shot down quite some time ago.

Yeah, but when the US Government appealed the verdict, then COPPA went under probational enforcement. Which means that if users are found in violation, but they take action after court decides to kill the appeal, then they will not be prosecuted, but until then, it acts under full effect! So, I don't want to take chances...

COPPA is still valid U.S. law. COPA is what you're thinking of.

But COPPA has also been shot down by court, but almost immediately, it was appealed...
That is why the mess with getting search engine data was going on, because the US Government is trying to uphold COPPA

@NNO-Stephen: I see you did not pick up the symbol used in my post, but you saw question marks instead...
