Suspecting beta release very very soon!

3 posts and look at your joining date. If you had been here this long you'd understand that we are just having fun trying to guess at the date. Also it makes newbies go a little crazy and get their hopes up

I know, that amuses me. People come and see people's posts or signatures and go around telling everyone Olympus is going to be out in a week or whatever when nobody really knows.

Yeah... that's called trolling, and I wonder why you guys haven't been banned for it...

Indeed... Some kind of conspiracy, or it could be for two simple reasons...

90% of the time we are contributing useful information
10% of the time we are poking fun (not flaming poking fun) at newbies...

It's not called trolling because most of the time I don't even post, I just watch... Another reason, we are having FUN, other trollers are bagging out the dev team etc and aren't... They are serious...

Plus, I've been here longer than you...

FYI, I haven't even been going around telling newbies that phpBB3 is going to be released next week or whatever, I just said its funny to watch people going around saying that stuff.

So really, you don't have to push all of this on me.....

sorry, but you'll have to wait, like all others here are waiting till the BETA comes out - which will take a while (days, weeks?)

We all want the beta, but it will only come, if some major bugs are fixed and all(?) planned features are useable.

So just wait with us...

The world has no patience, nor does it understand that patience is necessary if you don't want to get completely "owned" in the end... patience in this situation will let us have a nice, quality product. And I must say, phpBB3 is looking like a [expression word here] good piece of work.

Now, I have no patience. I can't wait for this beta (or the real release) to be released. I want to upgrade our forums sooo badly. The second we do get this phpBB3 running on our site, I'm going to completely redo the permissions on our board. I'm so pumped...

Yeah, I know I need patience, and so should everyone else. Let's give an example...

Q: Why do you wait for the stoplight to turn green before you enter the intersection?
A: You want to keep your car in good condition, avoid tickets, and get home alive.

Likewise...

Q: Why do you wait for phpBB3 to be adequately developed and tested?
A: You don't want all of your posts to suddenly disappear because of security holes due to lack of patience.

(On another note... I'm sad because I can't edit forum permissions again; query is bad. Hopefully that is in the bug tracker

There are only 42 open bugs, template editor works, imageset editor works, only theme editor don't work. I think BETA will be this week (i think that from march )

There was no "new version" released as far as I know.

Sourceforge fixed their cvs repository, which allows us to download the PRE-ALPHA development copy for us to play with, however, this is unrelated to the progress of Olympus.
