What prefix are you referring to rip2roar? You should enter the full username and password that you use to access your FTP Server. If you need a prefix in your FTP application, you probably will need it during the EM install as well...

For example
Username: prefix_rip2roar
or just the rip2roar
I'm having trouble with it because the username or password is the only thing it wont recognise

If your host tacks on a prefex onto your FTP username, that is what you have to use in the EM installation too. If you can't leave the prefix off when connecting to your FTP Server with a good FTP application such as SmartFTP, then EM won't be able to do it either...

Sorry, I was being "new" and was entering my sql username.
