This is a index.php for phpBB3 and not phpBB2?

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/phpbb/phpBB2/

Thats the updates, you can download a new index.php page there

Why not do a DB update and then re-install a new copy of phpBB?

Locked as area51 is not where you need to get support. If you want help with phpBB2, go to http://www.phpbb.com/support/" target="_blank for help.
