Best operatig system

I'm currently looking for a good OS. I've used RH8, but it's soo buggy, that I needed to change it. So unfortunately I'm using WinXP. I'm thinking one of the following may be good:
  • Solaris
  • FC3 (Fedora Core 3)
  • Ubuntu
  • SuSe
  • Knoppix
  • Debian
  • FreeBSD
Definitely need to narrow that down...

FC4 is GORGEOUS. I slapped it on one of my development boxes last week and it is working fantastically. One of the best Fedora/RH initial releases (if not the best) I've ever seen.

Yeh, it rocks, the only problems I've had are with the speakers, got mixed up with the disabled onboard soundcard and the soundblaster

At the moment, Windows for desktop machines... either XP or 2k

Servers have to be FreeBSD is its *NIX based, or Windows 2003 if its an ASP/.net environment

Its just that the UI of the windows OS's are just so d*** ugly. and when you try to make it look better, it screws up your system. thats why im going to switch over to a mac.

Well, I use Windows XP for my Desktop and Server..but it crashes. Constantly. So, I'm currently *trying* to use Slackware Linux. :)
