New look for launch?

Post by Eggplant »

Will beta / release candidate / final version of 2.2 launch with a different theme than the one currently in use here? I've always kinda thought as this theme being a temporary one, as some of the images (including post icons) are fairly harsh, also many elements are recycled from subSilver for 2.0.x.

I also remember reading somewhere that subblue (the creator of the subSilver theme) will be making a radical new look for 2.2?

This is unknown this is a development release, which means anything can change any time.

I've suggested before, given what happened during phpBB 2.0 development, that we leave open the possibility of a different look on 2.2 release, though I have no solid information that I can point to to back my suggestion up. So I've just been going out on a limb on this, based on what happened to phpBB in the past ... and it's fairly lonely out here, I might add ...

The only comment I got was 'no comment' ;-)

Well, we will see :), but I think the developers could be hiding something ;-)

Wise move, considering that subblue could decide to change it at any given time.
(it's not the developers who make the style from what I have read)

I guess it's not subBlue (don't know his name ;)) who deside what to do all by himself. The developers (psotfx and Acydburn) is in control of the whole work, so I guess they AND the subBlue-man is making the style together. And if there is going to be a new style, I guess the work already has began. But thats just my guesses, I don't know anything more than you :P

No you don't, and idle speculation often turns out to be completely false. :)

My point was not to speculate, my point was to say that I am 99,99% sure that subBlue (IF he is making a new design) is working together with psoTFX and AcydBurn. So in the end there is the developers who deside :P
