Visual Confirmation Mod?

Anyone know what the new "visual confirmation mod" is in the latest 2.0.11 update?

When registering the users have to enter a unique number that confirms their registration, it's meant as protection for bots trying to mass-register and spam.

Cool....I figured that would only be a feature for 2.2. Seems tha it has to be activated via the ACP.

I backported it to 2.0.x long ago and it's been sitting in the contrib directory (partially installed by default to make things easier). However recent increased activity by idiots led us to decide it was in our communities interests to have this included by default.

It's a neat feature and makes a heck of a lot more sense than...say...entering an email address TWICE.
