Re: The 2.2 styling system ... feedback
I have managed to build a complete style/template for 2.2.x and it proved to be very easy. In fact without a portal to worry about one could make a complete GUI (template/style/whatever its now called) in a day…
There are many good portals out there; MD’s IMPortal/Integramod and Smartor’s EzPortal are perhaps two of the best (IMHO). IMPortal is more comprehensive and includes many standard blocks as well as being integrated into ACP is the most advanced...
Mike
PS Has there been any discussion re the proposed portal (I don’t mean a wish list).
For example: Will the administration of the portal be integrated into the ACP or will it have its own PCP (Portal Control Panel)?
As phpBB does not use php in tpl/html files can I assume blocks will have both a php and html file?
Just wondering…

Re: The 2.2 styling system ... feedback
Just one question about the new styling system (which I happen to love by the way). Considering all the changes, it appears that we will need to start from scratch because judging from the changes, no phpbb 2.0.x template will work with phpbb 2.2.0 - or am I wrong?

What is the purpose of all the CVS folders?
I notice that there is a CVS folder in each folder except the CVS folders themselves.

You are right. But the template creation seem a little easier now.

Re: The 2.2 styling system ... feedback
I am recreating my original phpBB2.0.11 style in phpBB2.1 (i know, i know, bladiebla changes bladiebla not final bladiebla... awell, so be it
), must say that it looks realy good, this new templating sytem.
The first few changes i did where somewhat complecated (compared to the old system
) but overall it works realy nice.
I realy love this new blocks system
It works out prety good
I only hope that there won't be major changes in the sytling system... and if there will be, awell, my loss

Probably not, but subBlue is working on a totally new style..
Re: The 2.2 styling system ... feedback
everything looks great so far
i wondered though if the color bar thingy should use a more 'web-smart' pallette
(combinations such as 00ffdd, ff0000, 1199cc, etc) ?
and I also just wanted to test if shorthand hex codes worked for font colors
i was always annoyed that you couldn't :\
