will the CVS's be more up-to-date than the betas'?

Post by BMWGuy »

Once the beta is released, will the CVS be continued? And if so, would the CVS theorectically be more "up to date" since" since it would reflect the changes that occured in between each beta release?

Just curious......... ;)
Think that the developers have secretly stopped working on PhpBB v2.2? Think again........see the latest progress HERE:

If 2.0 is any indication, then yes. But there still will not be any support for the CVS.

There's still a phpBB 2.0 CVS, but mostly all that's there are bug fixes...
Bored as hell. May as well put myself through the (X)HTML validator to see how invalid I am.

Well, I normally count those as bugs...

As I don't want to start a new topic for this ...
Is the CVS updated regularly ?
I see that my zip-file that's a few months old has about the same size as the current CVS-file.

Also ... all the CVS-files in the snapshot section don't have the same size.
Does this mean that there are difference between those files or is it just something else ?

Thanks :)

CVS is updated whenever the developers commit files. The last update was at about 1700 UTC yesterday.

As for sizes, these won't vary dramitcally since most recent changes have been edits rather than adding code.

As for the snapshots, the size will always vary slightly because of the compression used on them

Probably, but I won't probably run them, since every now and then, the CVS's just have random areas that don't work or things missing. I was surprised the other day when I noticed that they FINALLY replace {TITLE} in the Friends and Foes area of the UCP.. now there's only the REPORT_POST, EDIT_POST and DELETE_POST left. ;)

Haha, I'll be quiet now. :)
