Hi,
I think badges should introduced in phpBB. just like they have on StackOverflow
Examples of Badges such as:
First Edit,
First Message,
First Post,
Completed Profile
First Login
and many more...
We can introduce lots of them.
It will not improve phpBb performance in any way but It will look good and will attract users. Many users like me will come back just to see if I have got any new badges after doing any certain activity.

Re: Introduction of Badges
Extension I would say. This is the equivalent of achievements and not very many sites would go for that I think. This could get very complex depending on what events the achievements would be attached to.

Re: Introduction of Badges
We already have Ranks for X posts and I think that is enough, anything more should be in an extension.
