Need new field in registration page

Post by Steve_S »

How do I add a field in the registration page? I want to add my own security question. One question, one required correct answer. Any ideas? I'm running 3.0.2. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Would using that method not result in showing the answer to the question in each user's profile? I would like this to be a simple question like "What is bigger, a dog or an elephant", and if answered correctly then they can move on. I don't want to store the info with their profile.

Thanks, I guess that will do for now until I figure out out a clean way to add a real security question field. I wonder why a customizable security question isn't a standard field in phpBB3? It certainly stopped spammers in my older boards!

I have stopped my spammers (for now) using two custom profile fields as suggested but I am on 3.0.4

The field I set up last night has stopped the spammers completely. I was getting about 15 per day and now there are none since last night. I would still like to figure out how to insert a real security question rather than a profile field though.
