Show board info on homepage

Post by Midge »

I'm not quite sure how to explain this. I used to have an Ikonboard on my webspace and a .html/.shtml page (as homepage) with information on how many topics there were and the names of members browsing the board at that point. This information was taken directly from the board files. Both the homepage and the old Ikonboard are still up, you can take a look here: homepage and old Ikonboard.

The source text of the .shtml file contains this bit of code:

Code: Select all

<b><!--#include virtual="iB_html/non-cgi/ssi/post_totals.txt"--></b><BR><BR>
<!--#include virtual="iB_html/non-cgi/ssi/last_posted.txt"--><BR><BR>
<!--#include virtual="iB_html/non-cgi/ssi/online_count.txt"--><BR><BR>
<!--#include virtual="iB_html/non-cgi/ssi/online_list.txt"--><BR>
It gives you the following part of the page (translated):
There are 51811 postings (840 topics + 50971 replies).

At the moment the following people are browsing the rpg:

I'd like to have this information back for the new forum. I couldn't find textfiles similar to the ones the Ikonboard has, but that's not a big surprise - the systems are too different. Is there a way to take this info out from someplace and make it appear on the homepage in a similar way?
