phpBB1!

Post by Aled »

Hey, this topic didn't fit into the category above to I thought I might post it here.

Can I try and complete phpBB1 and then release it on the internet. As in, fix the bugs on it and such? It could be something fun to do.

Sure, you can try. It's open source software.

It would be a bit pointless though, it would be going backwards. Olympus is the future (at least until v4 :))

It would be more than fixing bugs -- it would be a complete overhaul since it was designed for a very old version of PHP. And not to mention fixing all the security problems/issues. Personally I would recommend just making a phpBB1 look-alike template -- easier and safer. :)

When phpBB1 was designed, PHP3 was the current version. It worked OK on some earlier versions of 4.x.
