What's the difference between the NO and the Unset? I saw the answer a while ago but I have forgotten and can't find it now... I used search and everything.
I think no means you can never do it, even if individual forums or even the whole board is set to yes, right, and unset means that you cannot do something unless it is set somewhere else, and yes means that you can do it no matter what, right?
Permissions "Yes - No - Unset"

Re: Permissions "Yes - No - Unset"
Let me see if I can explain.
The difference is the difference between explicit (yes/no) and implicit (unset).
Explicit says you will or will not have permissions to this feature any exceptions
Implicit says you will not have permission to this feature unless something requires you to have those permission.

Right, but "yes, unset and no" has changed to "yes, no and never" in CVS (and probably next beta).

Re: Permissions "Yes - No - Unset"
Read the Quick Start Guide Section on permissions:
As mentioned, the wording is going to change for Beta 2 (and is already changed in CVS).
- YES will allow a permission setting unless it is overwritten by a NO.
- UNSET will be seen as NO, unless it is overwritten by a YES.
- NO will never be allowed for a user. It cannot be overwritten by a YES.

Re: Permissions "Yes - No - Unset"
I wonder if I can charge a consultancy fee . That's why the big companies send people rude letters if they send in letters suggesting new features

Trust me, you wouldn't want what we pay dhn for ideas like that anyway (and yes it had been floating around for a while before) - a slap with a smelly fish

Was the build-in bbcode not enough?

No, you don't recall correctly. My idea, all my idea. So .
Infact, if you refuse to pay me, I demand to get a percentage of the profit made from selling 3.0. So there...
Question: Why does dhn let you pay him in slaps from fish.
