Warning System

As far as I can remember at the post at phpBB.com about phpBB 3 was a feature called warning system announced. Is this right and do you know more about this, will it maybe included in the beta? Very interesting, Invisionboard has a warning system too, vB doesn't have one.

work progresses on implementing as much of this as possible. Such items include (but are not limited to):


Warning system
Completion of report system
Completion of “new” module system and updating of ACP/UCP/MCP modules
Styling
Permissions

So I think the warning system is not the report system.

It was put in originally (it was called Karma) but was later scratched for lots of different reasons. I can't use the Search, but look back several pages in this forum, and you'll see lots of topics about it.

And equally, Karma != Warnings, they are 2 totally distinct concepts....

Blah, now I'm confused. So are we talking about three different things? 1)Warning system, 2) karma, and 3) Report post?

Yes.

1) Warning System:
Moderators give warnings to users. An admin can select what the warnings will lead to, for instance after the fourth warning three day ban. Probably not as advanced as affecting permissions - perhaps in 3.2.

2) Karma:
Will not be in 3.0; users are able to rate posts of users, who are then assigned a Karma value that may affect certain permissions. This was removed from CVS because it is too dificult to find a way to make this a useful feature for the broad audience that we serve.

3) Report posts:
Users are able to report posts and add a description of why they think the post is inappropriate. These posts will be highlighted to moderators, who can deal with them accordingly.
